OUR STORY

Welcome to Sawney Beans Pub!

Image

Sawney Beans was established in 2007 by Dave and Jackie Bakx. It had made a name for itself as a local British pub that specialized in British beers and food. In 2014 the couple sold the restaurant to the Oommen brothers, Mark and James. Although the brothers did not want to completely change the characteristics of what Sawney Beans had become, they also had a desire to add their own unique flair to the food and atmosphere, as well as feature local products and ingredients as much as possible.

The brothers have over, 30 years of combined experience in the hospitality industry. Mark spent many years managing the very popular Baked Expectations in The Village and James had valuable time cooking at the prestigious Hy's Steakhouse in downtown Winnipeg. The brothers have added some of their own unique dishes, and make a strong effort to continue creating and evolving as the industry itself changes.

Here at Sawney Beans we want to make your experience as memorable as possible, and if there is anything we can do to help make your time here more enjoyable, please don't
hesitate to ask!

We hope that you enjoy the food, the drinks and the comfort of our little home away from home!

The menu at Sawney Beans is not my favorite. I usually resort to the safe order of chicken tenders... which are pretty good. According to my table mates, the nachos are amazing, and the burgers are pretty good too.
Service is good.
Great atmosphere.

This is one of our favourite places to go. All staff are very friendly and genuinely care about your experience. The food is amazing and so is the variety of beverages.

Service was good. Restaurant is clean and Ambiance is great. As a general rule, I love everything on their menu except the last time I was there, I had a linguini special which I didn't like and all the waitress did was apologize when I mentioned it. So stick with their wings and other fried pub foods. Best menu items are: London's Burning Burger, Bangers and Mash, Irish Nachos and the deep fried mars bar.
